Trafika Europe Radio – Europe’s literary radio station, free online – is launching with a gala streaming literary event, this Sunday May 10, 2020 from 2:00-4:30pm EDT.

It’s free online radio! No subscription or signup is required.

The three European women poet-performers featured in this launch event each ply an exquisite line between two literary cultures: Christine De Luca has brought her native Shetland dialect into the mainstream of Scottish culture, serving for a time as the Makar (Poet Laureate) of Edinburgh. Dutch autobiographical storyteller Rajae El Mouhandiz also sings in her native North African spoken dialect as well as English, sharing the painful journey and redemption of her family’s generations. And French-Occitan poet Aurélia Lassaque has inherited the mantle of troubadour culture in southwestern France. These three women will share and discuss their work, followed by a panel all together on gender and identity in European cultures.
