We are saddened to report that Charles Harris passed away yesterday. His vision of creating a critical mass in the early 1990’s is what brought Dalkey to Illinois State University, where Curtis White and Cecile Giscombe already were. Soon we were joined by David Foster Wallace. For a short period, Charlie’s vision for contemporary literature was taking place. Charlie was a John Barth scholar, among many other accomplishments. Most of all he was a close friend, and he will very much be missed.
