Scholarly Series

Dalkey Archive Press is committed to working with the academic community to insure that important works of literature continue to be read, written about, and taught.

In addition to our critical publications the Review of Contemporary Fiction and CONTEXT, we publish book-length critical works on modern and contemporary literature through the Dalkey Archive Scholarly Series. Information about the Series and submission guidelines can be reached through the link above.

Classroom Adoptions

Dalkey Archive books are used in a wide range of classes, and we are happy to suggest titles suitable for classes in such areas as:
  • Modernist and Postmodernist Literature
  • Creative Writing
  • Literary Criticism
  • African-American literature
  • Oulipo
  • Contemporary Poetry
  • Contemporary Jewish Literature
  • Writing by Women
  • Literature in Translation (including Eastern European, French, German & Austrian, Greek, Japanese, Latin American, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Scandinavian, Spanish, Swiss, and others)
Desk copies & exam copies can be requested using our online form.

In recent years, our titles have been particularly popular in creative writing courses, where teachers wish to expose their students to work that is out-of-the-ordinary. We asked a few of these teachers to write about the Dalkey Archive books they teach, and why and how they teach them.

Our Creative Writing Course Sampler was created from their responses. If you have had experience teaching a Dalkey Archive book in a creative writing class and would like to add your own recommendation, please contact Martin Riker (riker@dalkeyarchive.com).
