The Review of Contemporary Fiction
Editor's NoteEditor’s Note
This issue of the Review of Contemporary Fiction inaugurates a new format. Instead of devoting each issue to several essays written about the work of one or two authors, we will be featuring four or five long essays, each studying the career of a different author. These overview essays, we hope, will provide our readers with both an introduction to formally experimental fiction writers—especially those whose work has not been widely studied—and interpretive strategies for reading their work. Our new format will sometimes be augmented by special issues devoted to new fiction from around the world or to essays and fiction by important novelists and critics. Taken together, this and future issues will continue the Review of Contemporary Fiction’s mission of celebrating and promoting the study of the aesthetic of innovation in fiction.
